February

February went by quickly.  Valentines, fires, and yardwork summed up the month. Casey did a little repair for his department mascot, because that's what he does best....fix and repair. Rooster lost it's tail.  Casey did a quick re-tailing.

A few treats and TJ's flowers for Valentines....also a fun gift for the kiddos at school💕

Casey is always busy prepping, burning, chopping and yarding of some kind.

Casey is also our resident omelet maker(he's a talented man)😋

Cody had some time off, so he traveled to Norway for about a week and sent some beautiful photos of his trip😍

We lost a dear friend in February. Her passing put me in a bit of a slump of nostalgia. West Virginia was our first job out of grad school. We were young and far away from family. It was hard. It was a sweet and challenging stage of life. Luke and Andy were close in age and rode the bus home together. Tammie called one day asking if I’d like to get together. We lived close enough where we could’ve walked, but the windy roads and traffic made it easier to drive. From that point on our families spent a lot of time together going up and down Hooker Hollow Road. Holidays, birthdays, and summers were spent together. They showed us their favorite spots and shared their favorite recipes. They became like family to us.
We spent 8.5 years in WV. Memories of raising our kids, shopping, laughing, cooking and talking about life take me back to a time I will always cherish. Tammie recently passed, and it felt like losing a piece of our early life, someone who knew us when everything was new and uncertain and beautiful. Even though miles and years separated us, those memories stayed close.
Grateful for the time our families shared and for the kindness she always showed. Thinking of her family and all who loved her.💕

January

This pretty much sums up my January.  I woke up New Year's Day feeling achy and tired.  I thought maybe it was because I hadn't gotten enough sleep.  Well, turns out it was the flu that generated the worst cough of my life.  I coughed so much and so hard that my ribs were sore.  Casey and Ry were very tired of listening to me cough 24/7(sorry guys).  It quickly evolved into nasal congestion that was also very relentless.  I'm pretty sure I had bronchitis.   I felt like I would get better but would quickly relapse.  After 6 weeks, I finally went in and got some medication for a sinus infection.  Thankfully, I'm on the other side of this mess, my energy levels have returned to normal and my congestion is significantly better.  Wow, what a month!

We did have a couple snowy weekends that was a fun break in a month mostly spent on the couch and in the bathtub😷

First weekend was just a dusting.  There was more of a concern with ice/freezing rain and losing power.  Thankfully it wasn't as bad as they predicted, and we didn't lose power.

Second weekend of snow was predicted to be anywhere from 2-4 inches.  Schools were cancelled and everyone was on high alert.  We probably ended up with 2-3 inches(It's a big deal in GA)😊

Ry was very committed to hit Casey and I with as many snowballs as he could.
He got Casey pretty good, so there was some paybacks given.

We didn't last long out there(too cold), but it was fun while it lasted.

We always love a Snow day!
