MAY - School's out for Summer!

                                    

May brought the end of school. I wish I could post a picture of our class and tell you how special each and every little friend is and how much fun they brought to our classroom this year.  It was a great year!! The end of the school year is always so bittersweet.  We are at the end of the year, so they love their friends and they love school, and it's so fun! However, I also enjoy a summer break and look forward to having more free time to do all the things I don't have time for during the school year.💛🌞 

We started out May with opening the pool.  It's a process that takes a few weeks to complete, thankfully we had some helpers for opening day.  It's always easier with help! It was also Mother's Day weekend, so Kaitlyn prepared a delicious meal with yummy desserts from Jeni's(my favorite).  And I made them take the obligatory selfie with Mom photo💗

                             

                                     

                           

Our blueberries were starting to ripen, so we are picking and eating all things blueberries🫐

May had some good eats...love finding and making seasonal dishes.

               

We have some birds nesting in our hanging ferns. Each morning is a chorus of bird songs, and I love it!

We had a couple of snakes within 5 minutes of each other were both trying to reach the birds in our hanging ferns.  Casey diverted their path.

Good thing Casey was home, because I would not have been able to be the diversion person😳

            We've had a lot of rain for a couple of weeks, so it's been a bit soggy around here.

           
   

      Josh had a birthday, so we facetimed to watch him blow out candles and sing happy birthday🎂

April

April is the month of Blooming. I love flower season⚘, We have so many flowers in our yard that creates a beautiful palette of colors. I love making backyard bouquets💮

We had some creature features in April.  Casey wanted to keep the turtle and watch it grow into a full size turtle. Casey is fine with anything that doesn't eat or compromise his grass (squirrels/rabbits = bad).  Turtles are grass approved.  However, we decided to set the turtle free but enjoyed watching it for a few hours.

            We were able to watch one of Josh's baseball games.  His team won!!

                     

It made Janelle so nervous when Josh was stealing bases.  She didn't want to look😄

                                               We had several beautiful sky days/evenings😍

Kaitlyn and I went to our local mall.  We heard the mall had been bought out and closed down, but apparently the pending sale didn't go through, so there are just a few stores still open.  It's a little ghost townish. So sad.  I used to go here all the time and shop. This year they even had the Easter Bunny there for pictures, but I heard nobody showed up.  People were there walking for exercise when Kaitlyn and I were there. End of an era😔

We had family come for Easter dinner.  And one night it was even warm enough for a hot dog roast.

                                    

At the park where I run at Christmas there is someone who decorates a tree.  I always love seeing it.  This year was the first year it was decorated for Easter.💚

                                      And I started prepping for end of year gifts for our class...
