April

April(not March) came in like a lion and out like a lamb.  We had a storm come in that knocked down a few trees.  They weren't big, but they did block our driveway.  Casey left to go to work and came right back in to change clothes and get his chainsaw to move the tree.  Thankfully I didn't have to work that day, so Ry and I helped him clear the driveway and clean up our yard.  It took all three of us most of the morning.

Casey had a nice big fire pile to burn after we were all done.....😆

He had to wait a few days though, because our burn pit was full of water😐

By the end of April our flowers were blooming, and our yard was full of color😊

We also had an eclipse in April.  We were only partial, so it didn't get too dark, but just enough where you could see a difference.  Ry had his glasses from 7 years ago when we could see it more, so we used them and it was still very cool to witness such a rare phenomenon.  The shadows and dimming make it such an eerie feeling. Everything seems to get really quiet. The birds and outside noise hush for a moment of darker(ness) in the atmosphere.

Ry found a baby turtle on our porch.  Casey said it was a newly hatched turtle, because it was so small.  Ry and Casey thought they'd keep it for a pet but then researched what it would take to keep it and decided to let it go😏

We had some beautiful days in April.  I love it when everything starts to come back to life, and it begins to stay light longer.  It gives me hope that warmer/lighter days are coming.  I love the warmth the sun brings in the spring🌞

We opened up the pool.  It actually didn't look too bad.  Usually it hast a tint of green, but it was bright blue.  It was the cleanest it's ever been after just removing the cover!  Woohoo!!

But there was still a lot of clean up around the pool that happened before swim season began.

March Spring and Things

March went by faster than I expected it to.  We had a birthday and Easter to celebrate as well as a lot of good views. The colors of spring are beginning so show themselves, and I'm loving it!

A heart shaped humming bird nest below in our blueberry bushes😍

                                                         Some beautiful morning runs...

                                                             Sunrise view from work....

The backyard sunsets are beautiful

It's also pollen season IYKYK...

Casey and Kaitlyn started a puzzle.  Ryan & I finished it(Casey was not happy about that).  I guess we were suppose to let him finish the puzzle since he did most of the work(oops)👀

Seth had his 17th birthday at the beginning of the month.  Hard to believe this sweet little Sethie boy will be a senior next year!👀

Alex was the next March Birthday...They went away to celebrate Alex, so we had a belated dinner birthday party celebration.

Kaitlyn wanted to eat lunch at a Korean BBQ for her birthday, so we did that and came back to have cake.  It was a lemon specialty cake from Cecilia's cake here in Athens. It was beautiful and delicious.

I bought some sparkle candles that soon started acting like firecrackers and making a mess on Kaitlyn's pretty cake, so we started removing them quickly...😅

Played a game of Life, which I won in my little pink car full of peeps traveling the world on my yacht - lol(if only)…

Ry and I colored a few eggs. I love how the colors turned out with the brown eggs.

Happy Birthday to our Kaitlyn Girl.  She's beautiful, fun, smart, sassy, talented and a great travel planner (if you want to plan a trip...she's the best)💜💛💙💚🎂

Ode to March....

Casey's Burn Jacket

It was still wet, but Casey wanted to burn.  This was a different kind of burn with a sad parting of sorts.  Casey has had a "burn" jacket for several years.  Anything that wears out he retires as his "work/burn" wardrobe.  This particular jacket is 36 years old. It has quite the history.  He bought it while we were dating.  It has more holes in it than fires he's started, but today he decided it was time. Time to say goodbye.  If you know Casey you know he doesn't do this often.  His favorite saying is, "Use it up, wear it out, make do, or do without" and that he does!  Stitching up tears, pathing up holes, and wearing our shoes wayyyy past their prime.  Ry said we should've been playing Taps.  Honestly, all the kids should've been here to witness this event. It's a jacket we've all teased him about over the years.  Should've had it framed and put into "Casey's things" museum/box, but I guess burning it seemed more appropriate😅🔥
