When Kailtyn was here this summer she wanted to take some pictures in Athens, so she captured a few shots around town and on campus that showcase some of Athens beauty.

Legend has it that if you step through the Arch on campus before graduating, you may never graduate. Casey likes to demonstrate this via his pictures...

As you can imagine, it's always a huge photo op for visitors, students, and graduates - Most of the time you have to wait your turn for a photo with the Arch.

We love Athens and all it has to offer - especially the good eats! I had a friend tell me about a place that has homemade Popsicles, so we stopped by for dessert after our delicious dinner!

We loved our Tour de Athens. It was a fun and delicious evening out on the town!

And yes, we ate more than one Popsicle - they're that good!!

Last Weekend of Summer Break

Andy, Janelle and Josh(Seth had went with a friend to Tennessee for the weekend) came to relax and enjoy some last minute down time before the grind of the school year began. We swam, had smores, enjoyed some good eats in Athens, and partied till the sun went down😀

I'm not really ready to say goodbye to the easy breezy schedule that comes with summer, but nonetheless it's that time of year. So, here we go - ready or not - let the school-year/work begin. Until next year!

Summer Reading

Although it was a fun and busy summer, I managed to squeeze in some reading time. I love escaping into the pages of a book. It's a form of therapy for me, as well as a sort of escape as I delve into the pages of the author's creations of moments in time to whatever world they wish to create or share with the reader.

I really hesitate recommending books to people, because I think everyone has their own favorite genres and what one person enjoys another may not. Some of these books were borrowed from a friend and the others I ordered based on the reviews - there were some I didn't order because of the reviews as well. For what its worth, here's the summation for my summer reading ratings.

1. Maybe You Should Talk To Someone - My favorite! I'd read it again - written by a real life therapist(but not non-fiction) in the form of a therapist's own life and the lives of her clients.

2. And Then You Loved Me - makes you wish it was a real story - a reflective and very good read.

3. Where The Crawdads Sing - story that keeps you interested and a bit reflective as well as wanting to change the ending.

4. The Unwinding Of The Miracle - a little hard to read, as it is somewhat of a journal for a dying mother to her children.

5. Eleanor Oliphant - fun, quirky, and a bit of a weird read, but also entertaining enough to keep you(as the reader) involved.

6. Before We Were Yours - hard to imagine this happening in real life, because it's so inhumane(sad story).

7. Little Fires Everywhere - definitely kept me interested, but the ending was a little flat for me as opposed to the story-line. I wanted/expected more.
