Fall is my favorite time of year. It brings such a relief from the warm humid summer, along with providing all kinds of delicious tastes, aromas, and beautiful colors.
It seems There is a festival to be had every weekend in the months of September and October. This past weekend we enjoyed the Apple Festival in Ellijay. Andy told us we needed to arrive early, and he wasn't kidding. We arrived between 9:00-9:30, and by the time we left around noon the traffic was crazy. It was unbelievable. I should have taken a picture.
The weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was chilly in the morning/sunny and warm in the afternoon - A perfect fall day!
We found some good eats...
and a pirate on stilts.
There were lots of apples, so we bought a few bags, which were promptly made into an apple crisp upon arriving home.
We parked across the street in a school parking lot. It was pretty close, but the hill was a steep one.
Baby conked out.
On our way home, we stopped for a few pictures at the lookout in Jasper. The view was amazing.
The kids were on fall break, so Monday we went to the Pumpkin farm. It was a fun time. We were there three hours and the kids were going non-stop. There were hay rides, a jumping area, slides, a hay stack to climb, games, and so many other fun activities to enjoy.
Oh, and pig races. Who has ever seen a pig race? They are one of the craziest, funniest, surprisingly entertaining activities you'll ever see!
And last but not least, we stopped by the pumpkin patch for some festive pictures with our cute little(and big) pumpkins. Poor Ryan is on the brink of becoming a preteen, so he really tries hard to act like a big kid, but deep inside he's still really enjoying the little kid activities. It makes it hard to get pictures without the look of gloom(1st picture - and he was the one begging to go play in the corn) on his face.
We did manage to get a few, especially when he is holding baby. That cute little pumpkin makes everyone smile!!
Happy Fall y'all!!
