December came and went so fast. It's hard to believe it's already over.
Before everyone arrived Ry, Casey and I went Christmas tree hunting.
Cody and Amy were first to arrive. Cody always pre-arranges a Sr. Sol pickup(with us), so there is food when they get in late at night. This time is was 1:00 am before he was able to eat his beloved Mexican meal.
It was such a fun time with everyone here. We had a busy week, but made sure we had time for our annual gingerbread house competition. It's always fun and pretty intense.
This year we added a couple secret ingredients to the competition - gummy bears and pumpkin seeds. Everyone presented their houses to the judge(Casey).
Top 3 were: 1st place - Kaitlyn, 2nd place - Alex and 3rd place - Cody/Amy...But like I always say, everyone's a winner! Great job to all!!
We spent the rest of our time shopping, playing games, cooking, eating, watching movies, visiting, and enjoying our time together!
It was either very cold or raining during the break, so there was a bit of cabin fever at times. We decided to take the boys to a trampoline jumping place to expend some of their pent up energy. It worked, and they had fun!
Christmas morning...
We lost power during the night at some point, but thankfully it came back on in time for us to enjoy the holiday festivities.
A few days after Christmas both Cody and Kaitlyn left to go spend time with their in-laws. Thankfully they are close and not a far drive away(especially Kaitlyn - just a few miles). Cody is a little farther in Tennessee but still drive-able. We loved our time with everyone while it lasted, but alas - (sadly)all good things must come to an end.
New Year's Eve was another party! Andy's family was still here to help bring in the New Year. Janelle prepared a yummy feast - We played a few games, ate and let off some fireworks. We all managed to stay up until midnight and enjoyed the celebration!
Wishing you all a Healthy and Happy New Year!
