Music in the park

This man was playing music at one of the squares in Savannah and was really good. We were listening while resting on a few benches. Ryan wanted to donate some cash and was quite proud for being able to do it all by himself.

Brothers

I came across a picture of Cody when he was the exact same age that Ryan is now. I was amazed at how different they look but are missing the exact same teeth.

Blueberries

We were up bright and early this morning to pick blueberries.


Cody was not too happy about the wake-up call, but to beat the heat we had to start early...sorry Cody.





Everyone else was a pretty willing participant.



Even Cody woke up and started picking.



Until he became tired of the camera. Casey started with his fatherly threats to discourage my picture taking, "Those who don't pick, don't eat!" - Nice try Casey.



The bushes were very wet from the storms the night before. We all ended up looking like we had went swimming instead of picking berries. It's a much slower pick than strawberries. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get 4 buckets of blueberries -vs- 1/2 hour for 4 buckets of strawberries. As time wore on, we had to watch out for Cody who began stealing berries in hopes of finishing his bucket off first.



And then the games began, which always means it is time to go!



We are looking forward to some blueberry pie, pancakes and sauce!

Summer catch

I remember spending hours as a kid catching grasshoppers, the bigger the better!



Ryan prefers the slower moving, slimy variety - worms, snails, and frogs - the slimier the better...

Congratulations Graduate!

My brother graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Construction Engineering Management this week. He already has a job lined up and will start work next month.

Summer

Summer is here, and we enjoyed our 1st trip to the lake. We took a few friends and enjoyed the afternoon swimming and playing in the sand...I LOVE SUMMER!

Back to the Buzz

Cody has always had a "thing" for hair. Short or long, he has always wanted to do it all-by-himself! We have went through the gel and mousse phase, the buzz phase, and the latest....



just a little water = hippie style phase.



BUT, NO MORE...he made a deal with a friend to buzz his hair for the summer.
