13 days with Grandma

It's always a fun time when Grandma comes to visit. This year we spent our visit swimming, shopping, and we managed a little bit of travel time too. The morning after she arrived we left for the weekend to spend the 4th in Savannah/Tybee. We had too much fun exploring, shopping and finding some good eats.

One of our favorite stops is always the Crab Shack
(Cody didn't want to take pictures...can you tell?)

Not only can you eat fresh seafood, but you can also feed baby alligators.

This is always Ryan's favorite part of the visit.

We spent a couple of days at the beach. The first day it was REALLY crowded, and REALLY windy, so we all ended up sun/sand-burned at the end of the day. When we went back on Monday it was perfect, and we enjoyed everything about it. Although Casey said he doesn't want me to take him there when he's old(Saturday was not a good for Casey), it really is one of my favorite places to be.

Casey had 4 free nights at Holiday Inn Express, so we used those up and enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool when we weren't out and about. Ryan just couldn't get enough...

We watch fireworks over the Savannah River and decided we wanted to do it in our boat next time(too bad we don't have one, darn)!

Janelle, Andy and Seth made it down for a visit while Grandma was here. We took a morning and went to a park in Athens where you can feed the ducks and visit their small zoo.

It was all good until Seth saw the bear. It was a little too close for comfort as far as Seth was concerned.

But he warmed up nicely to the Opossum and surprised us all when he wanted to touch it.

We also made to the lake for a day of swimming and fun.

We had such a fun 13 days with grandma. It just went by too fast. I want to do it all over again...

and again!!
