We spent the 4th in Savannah this year. It was a beautiful weekend with unusually low humidity, which made it so much more enjoyable.
We started the morning with a swim...
and spent the afternoon walking the squares.
Kailtyn found the exact square where they filmed a scene of Forrest Gump and wanted to pose for a picture...
We were told the actual bench was put into a museum. There were several people looking for the square and taking pictures while we were there. It's quite the attraction for visitors in Savannah but hard to find, because there are no specific signs or landmarks.
River Street is always a favorite
They had the fireworks over the river, and we found a great spot to put our chairs.
It was the best fireworks display we've ever seen, but it was also VERY crowded and made us appreciate our quiet little community at home.
