We always love the threat of snow in Georgia. It doesn't happen very often, so we get excited at the prospect of getting a few inches to play in. Last Friday it happened, and we received 3-4 inches of beautiful snow.
It started in the late afternoon, so the kids were out past dark sledding in the fresh snow.
The next morning we woke up to beautiful blue skies & snow covered trees.
It was 7:30a.m. when everyone decided it was time to venture out. We don't have a lot of snow attire, so we spent the day rotating mittens, sweats, sweatshirts and shoes/boots.
We also don't have a sled. Luckily, the neighbor boy across the street has one and shares with the kids. However, since it was very early & our neighbor wasn't up and outside yet, I wouldn't let Cody take the sled out of his yard to use. So, he got creative(desperate) and resorted to using a piece of insulation as his sled. That didn't last long before it split in two.
Kaitlyn made some snow art
Cody finally got to use the sled
Cody also enjoyed karate chopping the snow off of our bushes...
Ryan spent as much time outside as his hands and feet would allow. He was out before anyone else, and he was always the last one to come in.
Living in Virginia & West Virginia for 8-10 years and experiencing heavy snow storms blizzards, and severe snow accumulations, makes us appreciate a Georgia snow even more & the fact that it is gone within 48 hours of it's arrival.
We are now looking forward to spring...
